Best performance by an A level retake student
Clare Dutton and Divyan Sankaran share the prize for the best performance by an A level retake student.
Clare joined MPW from Sir William Perkin’s School with A level grades of BBC in Biology, Geography and Chemistry. She retook Biology on a September to January course and Chemistry and Geography on one-year courses. Achieving grades of AAA, Clare won a place to read Medicine at The University of Liverpool.
Divyan joined MPW from Nanyang Junior College in Singapore with A level grades of ACDD in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. He retook Biology and Chemistry on January to June courses. Achieving grades of AA, Divyan won a place to read Medicine at The University of Manchester.
Best performance by a first-time A level student
Hilary Davies and Emma Davies share the prize for the best performance by a first-time A level student.
Hilary joined MPW after having previously having been home schooled and followed two-year A level courses in English Literature, History and French. She achieved grades of AAA and won a place to read Theology at Queen’s University, Belfast.
Emma joined MPW from Camberwell College of Arts for two-year A level courses in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Achieving grades of AAA, Emma won a place to read Natural Sciences at St John’s College, Cambridge.
Andrew Lewin Memorial Prize for the best performance by a lower-sixth student
Cathy Jin and Saule Jandossova share the Andrew Lewin Memorial Prize for the best performance by a lower-sixth student.
Cathy joined MPW from Haining Middle School in China. At the end of her lower-sixth year she achieved grades of AAAAA in A level Chinese, A level Maths, AS level Economics, AS level Government & Politics and AS level Physics. She has now gone to A2 study in Economics, Further Maths, Government & Politics and Physics and is applying to read Economics at university.
Saule joined MPW from Dostar International College in Kazakhstan. At the end of her lower-sixth year she gained grades of AAAAA in A level Russian and AS levels in Accounting, Business Studies, Economics and Maths. She has now gone to A2 study in Accounting, Economics and Maths and is applying to read Management at university.
Best performance by an upper-sixth student
Emma Ling wins the prize for the best performance by an upper-sixth student. Emma joined MPW from The Cheltenham Ladies’ College to complete her A level studies. She followed an upper-sixth course in Biology and one-year courses in Chemistry and Physics. Achieving grades of AAA, Emma is now on a gap year in which she is applying to read Veterinary Medicine at university.
Best performance by a student going on to study Medicine
Raajiv Maher wins the prize for the best performance by a student going on to study Medicine. Raajiv joined MPW to re-start two-year A level courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics after a disappointing AS year at The King’s School, Peterborough. Achieving grades of AAA at MPW, Raajiv won a place to read Medicine at the University of Durham.
Outstanding overall achievement
Yan Yan wins the prize for outstanding overall achievement. Yan joined MPW from Hebei Experimental Middle School in China to follow two-year A level courses in Art & Design, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Achieving grades of AAAA, Yan won a place to read Architecture at University College London.
Best performance by a GCSE student
Wensi Lao wins the prize for the best performance by a GCSE student. Wensi joined MPW from Fentang Middle School in China and took one-year GCSE courses in seven subjects in which he achieved one A and six A*s. He proceeded to Hills Road Sixth Form College to study A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Business Studies.
