Easter Revision: A Level

Jump to subject lists

Topic-specific courses are offered in subjects where a significant number of topics are common to the specifications of all the examination boards. Topic-specific courses deal exclusively with these common topics.

Board-specific courses, focusing exclusively on a single specification, are offered instead of, or in addition to, Topic-specific courses in subjects where we know the specification of one particular examination board is particularly popular.

Skill-specific courses are offered for Modern Languages A level courses and focus on the examination skills required by all examination boards, ie oral work, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing

By offering Topic-specific ,Board-specific and Skills-specific courses we ensure that no student wastes time on a course, or risks being confused by covering material that is not relevant to him or her but may be important for other students.

Some courses are divided into discrete, half-day sessions, enabling students to attend only those sessions which are relevant to material they wish to revise in preparation for their June examinations. However, a minimum of three sessions per course must be booked.

In English Literature, History, Geography and Philosophy, which involve the study of a diverse range of literary texts, historical periods, or topics, we arrange bespoke programmes of individual tuition. Over the years we have found that in these subjects it is only through individual tuition that the specific needs of each student can be properly addressed.

All our courses make extensive use of past examination paper questions. Students must expect to be worked hard for the duration of their courses and tested regularly. At the end of each course students receive written reports outlining areas of strength and weakness and giving advice on the best way to revise in the run-up to their exams.

If students wish to study a subject that is not covered in this booklet please feel free to telephone the Course Director to discuss requirements. We sometimes run courses in minority subjects if there is sufficient demand for them or, failing that, we can often arrange programmes of individual tuition.

If you would like to discuss any of our courses, then please feel free to contact the Course Director.
